Helping to feed more of those in need

CERES COMMUNITY PROJECT

Ceres Community Project’s new Center for Food, Youth & Community will allow the organization to serve four times as many clients. The new, larger facility will centralize operations and help expand services to youth and free or low-cost, medically tailored meals and to those with diet-related illnesses and food insecurity in Sonoma and Marin.

The campus includes a large production kitchen, Client Resource Center, teaching kitchen, garden and community spaces and offices to help fill a growing need—between 2019 and 2023, Ceres’ meal service grew from 79,000 meals a year to 215,000 meals.

In addition to being able to serve significantly more meals through the new facility, Ceres estimates that at least 50 percent more youth will benefit from their Youth Development Program—learning how to grow, cook and eat healthy food; gaining skills for school, work and life; developing leadership; and discovering their power to make a difference.

Our work has always been rooted in local volunteerism and philanthropy. We’re truly grateful to Redwood Credit Union for their longstanding partnership and their gift to help us build Ceres’ new home in southwest Santa Rosa.
— Cathryn Couch, CEO and founder of Ceres Community Project
