Lake County fire survivors get much-needed boost

BOYLES FIRE RELIEF

The Redwood Credit Union Community Fund (RCUCF), in partnership with Senator Mike McGuire, was able to provide a much-needed boost to individuals, families, and schoolchildren who lost their primary residence in the Lake County Boyles Fire.

Following the loss of at least 35 homes, RCUCF provided gift cards to help 20 individuals and families and an additional 21 schoolchildren get the essentials needed to help them get back on their feet. In collaboration with Senator Mike McGuire’s office and the Konocti Unified School District, representatives from RCU and RCUCF delivered the gift cards to bolster the resilience of these students.

One fire survivor was so grateful for the support that they planned to build a long-term relationship with RCU. “The fact that you are supporting non-customers is truly amazing and inspiring. We have always heard good things about Redwood, but we think it is time to move our accounts over.”

Our priority is helping the families and individuals affected by this devastating wildfire get the resources they need to get on their feet as quickly as possible. The fund allows us to be ready to step in when communities need us most.
— Mishel Kaufman, RCU Chief Operating & Risk Officer and RCUCF President
